Built on Trust.
Rooted in Southeast Texas.
I've spent over 20 years crawling under houses, climbing roofs, and learning every way Southeast Texas weather can stress a structure. I started From The Ground Up Inspections in 2004 with one goal — give buyers and sellers the clearest, most honest picture of the home they're dealing with.
Two Decades of Knowing What to Look For
I'm a veteran, and I brought that same sense of discipline and duty into home inspection work. When I founded FTGU Inspections in Port Neches in 2004, Southeast Texas was my backyard — pier-and-beam foundations, Gulf Coast humidity, older neighborhoods with decades of stories baked into the walls. I already knew the terrain.
What I've learned doing 9,000+ inspections is that the details matter. A soft spot in the floor. A rusted flue. An attic that's been "fixed" three times and still isn't right. My job is to find those things before they become your problem — and explain them clearly so you can make a confident decision.
My reports go out the same day. Every finding is documented with photos. And if you have questions after you read it, you can call me directly. That's how I've operated from day one.

What You Can Expect From Every Inspection
No Surprises After Closing
I inspect every accessible system and component — structure, roof, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances. If something's wrong, it goes in the report. No soft-pedaling, no protecting anyone's transaction.
Clear Language, Not Jargon
I write reports that real people can read. Photos, plain descriptions, and clear severity indicators. You shouldn't need a contractor to decode what I found.
I Answer My Phone
Questions after you read the report? Call me. I'm available to walk you through findings, explain what's urgent, and help you understand what you're looking at. That's part of the job.
